I send these greetings and photos with a message of hope, based on the glittering lights and merry crowds that I saw this week in Lower Manhattan. It's been more than two decades since the terrorist attack on my home.
Fundamentalists and political entities seldom learn from their conflicts, but communities can rebuild and future generations, just as those before them, will consign the horrific violence of this year to the dustbin of history. The latest seed to sprout from the area where the Twin Towers once stood, the magnificent Perelman Performing Arts Center, also epitomizes my life-long conviction that the world would be a much better place if people made more art and less war.
May peace be with us all.
